OVERVIEW

This year marks the 9th Anniversary of DJ HeadBussa’s Celebrity Birthday Week benefitting the National Ataxia Foundation. The Dj’s mother was diagnosed with the progressively debilitating disease 18 years ago and for the past eight years Dj HeadBussa has made it his mission to increase awareness of the disease and aid in finding a cure.

HB Week 2016 kicks off Friday, April 29, 2016 at The Ybor City Jazz House followed by The HB Health Fair on Saturday, April 30, stationed at The University Community Center, and concluding on Sunday, May 1, 2016 with The HB Supply and Demand benefit concert, and DJ HeadBussa’s signature Strike Out Ataxia Charity Bowling Match at Pinchasers, which serves to educate the public about Ataxia, a disease that severely impairs parts of the nervous system that impact muscle strength and coordination.

Dj HeadBussa is excited to be continuing his partnership with the National Ataxia Foundation for this year’s events. He will also be joining forces with The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, The ALS Foundation, and a host of community organizations in a concerted effort to educate families in the Tampa Bay area on prevention and wellness.

“Last year there was an estimated 3,500 guests in attendance” says HeadBussa. “We also logged over one million impressions with our custom hashtag, #HBWeek8.

Our goal this year is to really focus our efforts and exceed those numbers.” His hope is that these events serve as a catalyst to inspire others to help support research for developing treatments designed to improve the quality of life for individuals with Ataxia and eventually find a cure.

More information about DJ HeadBussa’s 9th Annual Celebrity Birthday Week benefitting The National Ataxia Foundation will be available in the coming weeks.
